On the floor is Bane, their Great Dane puppy. It is Thanksgiving, and Brandie has decorated the place to make it feel like home, with a festive bath mat, turkey feet stickers on the window, and a paper tissue turkey with a honeycomb tail on the desk. The boys are buzzing this morning, as they are every morning, about the free breakfast bar with a waffle maker that must have been heaven-sent.
There is a notable absence of bickering and tension. Nobody is territorial. Everyone is happy to be together, even if they are really, really together. Logan heads to practice, and Brandie takes the boys to the pier to fish. After practice, Logan returns with takeout from Whole Foods. There is no long table covered by a festive linen with silver platters, china and crystal carefully arranged.
