Bleach season had a runtime of 24 minutes in total. The season was released on April the 4th, , in the United States of America. The Asian version of the show was released earlier. The song was written by Momiken and composed by UZ. The episode was written by Tite Kubo- Manga. The battle between Ichigo and Aizen was interrupted by the appearance of the other lieutenants, and it could have been impossible for Ichigo alone to defeat Aizen.
The war came to an end after several verbal and physical altercations between Aizen and all the lieutenants of the division. Ichigo was able to break through the Garganta and arrives in Karakura town.
The initial attack ended up hitting a barrier that appeared behind Aizen. The first attacks launched by Ichigo against Aizen missed him and hit some barriers instead. Aizen immediately swings his Zanpakuto at Ichigo, who managed to dodge the attack.
Ichigo thought that he would have gone out of control once more if he had put his hollow mask on like what happened in the battle with Ulquiorra Cipher. Aizen asked Ichigo to attack him, but with his hollow mask donned so he could prove to him that his thoughts were right. Ichigo obliged and immediately fired another Getsuga Tensho at Aizen, but Aizen dodged the attack again before appearing behind Ichigo. Ichigo tries to understand what Aizen means by his attacks are meaningless, and Aizen makes him realize that his blades cannot reach him.
Aizen yet again appears behind Ichigo, who immediately moved away. Ichigo thought the timing for his attacks against Aizen was perfect and wondered if Aizen was protecting himself through the power of Zanpakuto. Ichigo replied to Aizen and told him that the distance between them holds no meaning. Aizen immediately appeared in front of Ichigo and touched his chest and even told Ichigo that he could touch his heart in an instance.
Ichigo immediately swings his Zanpakuto towards Aizen after he touches his chest, who dodged the blow and re-appear behind Ichigo. He told Ichigo that fighting without hatred is like an eagle flying without wings. While the battle between Ichigo and Aizen continues, captain Sajin Komamura suddenly appears on the scene.
Most of the remaining Shinigami and Visored suddenly appeared behind Ichigo and told him they would protect him, but Ichigo to them the idea is crazy since they have all been injured. Shinji Hirako told Ichiko it would be a lot crazier to allow Ichigo to battle alone and that the battle belongs to every one of them. Moving to attack Ichigo, Aizen strikes him, sending him flying into the crater. Grabbing Ichigo by the throat, Aizen surrounds him with his appendages and creates a circle of charged spiritual energy around Ichigo.
Asking Ichigo if he can hear him, Aizen theorizes how Ichigo destroyed the barrier between Shinigami and Hollow and became transcendental.
Stating Ichigo has lost the power he once possessed and is now a mere shadow of his former self, Aizen states Ichigo is not worthy of having him absorb and comprehend him in his current state, and will meet death by a true transcendental being. As Aizen notes being obliterated by him will completely free Ichigo from his inferior existence as both a Shinigami and a Hollow, Ichigo calmly asks Aizen if he thinks something like this is going to end him and slashes at his chest, forcing Aizen to release him and destroying the circle of charged spiritual energy.
As Ichigo initiates the technique, Aizen expresses surprise at the new form he has taken. Enraged, Aizen states such a thing is impossible because a mere Human cannot surpass him. As Ichigo activates Mugetsu , darkness falls over the land. As the darkness dissipates, Ichigo lands on the ground as the blue bands covering his face begin to crack and peel off.
Standing near where Aizen crashed into the ground, Ichigo watches as a large gash on Aizen's back begins to heal itself. When Aizen looks up, Ichigo asks him if he is still regenerating. As his hair returns to normal and he returns to his original form, Ichigo falls to the ground and realizes his Shinigami powers are disappearing. The two converse briefly before Aizen is finally sealed as Ichigo looks away. Sometime after their battle with Aizen, Ichigo asks Urahara where everyone is.
When Urahara reveals they all wanted to come and talk to him, but actually doing it was difficult, Ichigo believes Urahara erased their memories from this explanation, but he says he did not do it this time, which relieves Ichigo, who is sick of hiding it and can now tell them himself.
Urahara tells Ichigo Aizen's seal structure will be dealt with by Central 46 , which seems to depress him a little. Urahara asks Ichigo why he is making this face, but Ichigo is wondering about his sadness himself. Explaining how he felt only solitude in Aizen's blade in his battle with Aizen, Ichigo theorizes Aizen had always been searching for someone who was standing at the same viewpoint as he was because he was on his own level from the start, and his heart may have wished he was just an ordinary Shinigami when he gave up.
As Rukia says this is her line, a crying Orihime says she knew it was him in the distance, though Ichigo's longer hair made her think she was wrong at first. Laughing, Ichigo suddenly collapses as everyone rushes to help him. Ichigo realizes that Aizen is correct and that he thought if he put his Hollow mask on he would have gone out of control again, like during his battle with Ulquiorra Cifer.
Aizen tells Ichigo to attack him with his Hollow mask donned, so he can prove to him that his thoughts are arrogant. Ichigo immediately moves away from his opponent and Aizen tells him that his attacks are meaningless against him.
Ichigo tries to figure out what he means by this and Aizen explains to him that what he's talking about is that Ichigo's blade will never reach him. Aizen appears directly behind Ichigo, who immediately moves out of the way.
Aizen asks Ichigo why he's putting so much distance between the two of them and if this is because he doesn't want even a single part of him out of his vision. Aizen states that this idea is meaningful only in a battle between two equals and that between the two of them, distance holds no meaning. Aizen immediately appears in front of Ichigo and touches his chest. He tells Ichigo that in just an instant, he can touch his heart. Aizen questions Ichigo as to why he wants to fight with him. He tells Ichigo that since he is, here it's clear that he rescued Orihime Inoue and that just from the look on his face he can tell that none of his friends have died.
Aizen tells Ichigo that he can't win if he just fights out of a sense of responsibility and that fighting without hatred is like an eagle without wings.
Captain Sajin Komamura suddenly appears next to Ichigo and he tells him not to lose himself or else he would be killed. Komamura tells Ichigo that he knows the reason why the captains from Hueco Mundo sent him here first and that he won't let him see Aizen's Shikai.
Most of the remaining Shinigami and Visored suddenly appear in front of Ichigo and they tell him that they'll protect him. Ichigo tells them that this is crazy, since they're all in terrible shape, but Shinji Hirako tells him that it would be crazier to just let him fight alone, and that this battle belongs to every single one of them.
Aizen calls Hitsugaya reckless for just charging in, but Hitsugaya tells him that if no one did anything, this battle would never go anywhere. Shunsui asks if Aizen is trying to suggest that they're playing dirty, but Aizen tells him that if that is the way he interpreted it, then he would have to correct his statement.
Komamura thanks Ichigo for attacking Aizen the moment he did because if he hadn't, then he would have attacked Aizen in a fit of rage and would have most likely been killed. Komamura then tells Ichigo that Aizen's statements about him not being able to win battles without hatred is wrong, since just his desire to protect has been able to grant him many victories.
Komamura then goes to fight Aizen and Shinji remarks that Komamura likes to talk a lot. Shinji then asks Ichigo why he didn't bring Orihime back with him, because if he had, they could have all been healed. Before Ichigo can say anything, Shinji decides to forgive him because he at least brought back Captain Retsu Unohana , who would be better for battle anyway. Shinji tells Ichigo that he's going to protect him, but in exchange, he wants Ichigo to protect the things that he wants protected.
