How do you look back on your time on EastEnders? At the time, it all came and went in such a blur. Because first of all, I was terrified all the time. I spent a year and a half scared. I eventually learned how to navigate that world, but the soap world is unlike anything you'll ever see, really. It's very specific within the industry. I'm so proud of doing the work on there and having that little bit of success. But I guess at the time, it was just a crazy whirlwind. In some ways, I wish I had been a little bit older when having that experience, so that I could really fully appreciate it and soak it up, rather than just being terrified all the time!

You won a National Television Award for Best Newcomer, so you must have fond memories of that moment in particular. Those sorts of things, I tend to think are nicer for your family. So that award lives at my mum's house. I'm so proud to have been able to share some of those moments with the people that are there before, during and after those periods of your life. Because there are a lot of people who are only there for that period, do you know what I mean?

How did that compare to working back home? I loved working out there and I was lucky enough to work on a couple of shows out there. Everything is just a little bit more geared towards making you a bit more comfortable when you're working out there. You want people to stop doing things! Sometimes we're not very good in this country at saying when things are good, whereas they don't have a problem with that so much. So sometimes the environment is just a little bit more joyful out there.
