Who owns jolly ranchers

Is there anything more joyful than a Jolly Rancher? My earliest memoires of the Jolly Rancher stretch back to my elementary school days, when my music teacher would pass them out as a reward after class if everyone behaved well. The prospect of a delicious candy was certainly inspiration to listen up in class.

When Bill Harmsen first founded the Jolly Rancher Company, he aimed to make the name sound like an appealing and friendly Western company. This was fitting, seeing as he originally only sold his goods in the Denver, Colorado area.

What lucky kids they must have been, to be the first to ever taste the jolliest candy around! The Jolly Rancher Company in fact sold ice cream and chocolate as well. The pair chose the name Jolly Rancher to attempt to appear friendly and inviting to customers. Originally, Jolly Rancher Company sold ice cream and chocolate alongside the hard candies they are now known for, but they quickly decided to turn their focus toward the hard candies only.

Candy Favorites says this decision was in part due to the cold temperatures in the Denver, Colorado area during the winter months, where the company primarily sold its products. They state that Jolly Rancher hard candies initially came in grape, apple, and "fire stix" flavors, and soon added cherry, lemon, and pineapple.

Has anyone noticed that the watermelon jolly ranchers are not as tasty as they used to be? They used to have a Caramel and Butterscotch flavor. I liked those the best. I wish they would bring them back. Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
